This piece grew from sketches made at the Bronx Botanical Gardens, where the gladiolus were standing tall and bold in their peak season. Their confident spires made an impression—each petal like a note in a chorus. The structure behind them is the garden's dome, a striking presence that shelters and frames the abundance inside.

With layered paper and bursts of color, I Will Sing is an ode to growth, to voice, and to the quiet power of showing up in full bloom.
