Secret Logic

2025, MONOPRINT, COLLAGE, ACRYLIC ON ARCHIVAL PAPER, IMAGE IS 20 X 16” ON 30 X 22”, UNFRAMED

This piece comes from memories of hiking as a family through deep, unfamiliar terrain — forests so thick you could easily lose your bearings. On those trails, you’re always scanning the trees for small painted symbols: a yellow triangle, a blue circle, a mark that tells you you’re still on the path.

Those shapes become a quiet language of survival and trust. Even when the land feels confusing, something is guiding you forward.

In this work, layered bands of color, dark passages, and patterned fragments echo that experience — moments of uncertainty interrupted by signs, clearings, and the soft pull of water. The horizontal band suggests a stream cutting through the landscape, while lace-like and geometric shapes drift like trail markers across a shifting terrain.

This piece is about learning how to move through complexity — reading the signs, following what flows, and trusting that even in the wild, a way through always exists.
