It Just Made Sense
2016, graphite drawing and spray paint collage on paper, 30×22”

After years of filling sketchbooks in life drawing sessions, I began pulling the figures back into new visual contexts. Here, a seated figure—rendered in quick, confident graphite—rests atop rows of spray-painted lace. The juxtaposition feels absurd and oddly right, like an inside joke between parts of myself. The seriousness of figure study meets the whimsy of stenciled pattern, and somehow—it just made sense.
