New Gallery Representation
I’m am excited to announce my newest gallery representation with the Davidson/Pivot Gallery. It’s really important to me who I collaborate with and that I also love their brand and everything they stand for.
About Davidson/Pivot Gallery:
Davidson/Pivot Gallery has at its core exceptional artists with established records of accomplishment. Their works are exhibited and included in important international museum collections and galleries, and are visually eclectic. The Gallery promotes work that asserts the artists’ process, material and conceptual, across media. It introduces the work of new talent to early attention, and supports the careers of its artists through direct exposure to critical notice and to a public eager for the opportunity of direct involvement. Davidson/Pivot directly addresses the audience for art in this cultural period, as traditional venues are evolving.
Marilyn Davidson is an internationally recognized visual artist. She has taught as a university associate and lecturer in the US and various art colleges in Europe. Her work is exhibited internationally, and is represented in the permanent collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Victoria and Albert Museum, London, the Everson Museum of Art, and numerous other collections, public and private. She has collaborated in many aspects of the art world, developing design programs in partnership with curators at the American Museum of Natural History, Jewish Museum, the Metropolitan Museum, and others. Her firm of twenty years has created industrial designs across many categories, from the functional to the aesthetic.
We’re launching the gallery with 1stDibs.com this Friday, May 11, 2018.
1stDibs.com is the world’s leading online marketplace for the most beautiful things on earth.
I love that. When I am formulating concepts and sketches for work my mantra is, ‘It has to be beautiful.’
1stDibs.com exists to connect the world's best dealers, finest shops and most important galleries with the world's most sophisticated collectors, designers and curators.
Starting with the few dealers that were hand-selected by founder Michael Bruno at Paris's legendary antiques market, Marché Aux Puces, in 2001, they've become the global destination for those who must have 'first dibs' on treasures — from around the world — that would otherwise be inaccessible. More here.
I am delighted to introduce you to my new friends. I hope you’ll join us Friday. I’ll be back to share the gallery link with you. See you Friday!
